When identical twin brothers Logan and Noah Miller's homeless father died alone in a jail cell, they vowed, come hell or high water, that their film, Touching Home, would be made as a dedication to their love for him. Either You're in or You're in the Way is the amazing story of how -- without a dime to their name nor a single meaningful contact in Hollywood -- they managed to write, produce, direct, and act in a feature film alongside four-time Academy Award nominated actor Ed Harris and fellow nominees Brad Dourif and Robert Forster.Either You're in or You're in the Way is a mordern-day Horatio Alger on steroids -- a fast-paced thrill ride of heartbreak and redemption that will both captivate and inspire.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book - in fact my wife and I both read it at the same time - whoever went to bed first picked it up.The literature and writing are not classic by any means but very straight forward, as if Noah and Logan are having a passionate conversation with the reader to share their story. For guys with only a high school education, they are quite literate. Therefore it is a quick, easy engaging read.Their story itself is actually quite unbelievable and I was quite impressed by their Chutzpah, boldness and optimism throughout the book - since they had nothing to lose, "just go for it". Plus the story is quite inspirational for two young guys to follow their dreams of baseball and then making a film with no experience. Their patience with their father was also amazing - I can't imagine hanging with the guy after he stole their nest egg saved up for the last chance at baseball and spent it in one night drinking and gambling. All in all, a good read - I've shared it with several friends. I hope their movie makes it into distribution!
